A lot has been going on this week, so we had a delayed celebration of Jaelyn's "Gotcha" day, which was May 15. I can't believe it has already been four years since we first held her in our arms in China. On the other hand, it is difficult to remember life without her. Tonight she chose her favorite restaurant to celebrate, Chinese buffet, where she gobbled up her favorite, rice!
As for the delayed celebration, I made a rush trip to Oregon, as my grandmother had what was thought to be a moderate stroke, followed by three days of seizures. On Tuesday Josh and I returned home thinking we had said goodbye for the last time, only to find out that the MRI showed she did not have a stroke. Stumped as to what was causing the seizures, plus high blood sugars and low potassium, the doctors sent her home and hospice got involved. Now almost a week later, she has rebounded, off the medications, and is talking and eating. At 93, amazing! Please keep my Grandma and family in your prayers though, as this is a very confusing time....
